Paul Yeomans

Paul has over 17 years of experience in healthcare design. He has substantial knowledge of the sector in areas of strategy, planning, design and construction and a proven track record of delivery. Paul has led the design of multiple award-winning buildings, notably, Hopewood Park mental health hospital in Sunderland, and The Jean Bishop Integrated Care Centre in Hull. Paul’s project portfolio has received awards from the RIBA, Building Better Healthcare, Design in Mental Health and European Healthcare Design.
Paul is a Director, leading our Newcastle Studio alongside Lianne Knotts. He is a Design Ambassador for the Design in Mental Health Network and member of their Advisory Group and Design Awards Jury. Through this role, he contributes to best practice guidance in mental health facility design to raise standards across the sector and improve the experience of patients and staff across the UK and internationally. In 2022, he was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Society of Arts for his leadership in healthcare design. Paul is a regular speaker at conferences and uses this platform to promote good quality healthcare design. He is currently leading the design of the New Specialist Hospital Building at the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle upon Tyne, along with early engagement on some of the initial NHS National Hospital Programme projects.
