Mark Nugent

Mark has 25 years of experience in healthcare design and has delivered a wide range of schemes, including acute, mental health and community health projects. He is an experienced architect and masterplanner, with a comprehensive understanding of the healthcare sector, with previous experience working within an acute NHS Trust in the West Midlands. He has delivered a number of key projects, including a specialist Autism Unit in Surrey and an Intensive Care Unit in South London, both also as Contract Administrator. He also oversaw the development of our Estates Register Tool for strategic estate planning.
Mark is an Associate Director in our London Studio. He is particularly skilled in the delivery of complex acute hospitals. With effective stakeholder engagement and end user consultation, he seamlessly manages the development of design briefs, responding directly to the intricacies of each project. He is an integral member of our clinical design and planning team, adding value through the application of mature technical skills, a personable approach and evidence-based design. Mark is a Fellow of the Institute of Healthcare Engineering and Estate Management (IHEEM), and by invitation, sits on the panel of their Strategic Estates Management Advisory Platform. He is currently involved in the design of a new trauma centre for the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital in Dublin and community health and diagnostic centres in Hereford.
