José Figueira

José graduated with a First Class degree in Architecture from Newcastle University and was awarded recognition for ‘Exceptional Contributions to the School’. There, he founded the Architecture Society’s lectures and workshops programme, helping earn the society the Pride of Newcastle Award. Since joining the practice, he has gained experience in mental health, acute health and primary health care, including work on the Sycamore mental health inpatient building at Northgate Park Hospital in Morpeth, and the New Specialist Hospital Building at the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle upon Tyne.

José is an Architectural Assistant in our Newcastle Studio. He is a founding member of MA+, our social activity and personal development initiative, helping to bring our teams together outside of the studio. José is part of the team designing a new mental health inpatient building at St Ann’s Hospital in Dorset.
