Bob Wills RIBA

Bob has over 24 years’ experience as an architect and has a particular interest in the use of research and development methodologies to improve the quality of the built environment.

Designated Quality System Manager and Innovation and Sustainability Lead, Bob closely follows material and technological advances to develop sustainable construction techniques around the world.

Bob joined Medical Architecture  in 2007 as Associate and has since built on extensive experience as design team leader. His specialist knowledge on design and construction has been invaluable on many of the Practice’s key projects, including the award winning Roseberry Park mental health village in Middlesbrough.

Recently, Bob secured the high profile Technology Strategy Board government funded programme ‘Design for Future Climate Change’.  The initiative aims to explore how architectural design can accommodate the effects of future climate change. Working with climate researchers at Oxford Brookes University and services engineers, Mott MacDonald Fulcrum, Bob is modelling adaption strategies and future climate scenarios for 2030, 2050 and 2080.

Bob contributed to the Encyclopedia of Vernacular Architecture of the World and continues to talk at industry events; including 2010’s IHEEM Conference in Manchester on “Refurbishment, Conservation, Re-cycling, Up-cycling”.
