Joanna Wilson

Joanna has over 3 years of experience in healthcare design having previously worked for architectural practices in London and Edinburgh with a sustainability focus. She became involved in healthcare design during her Master’s degree at the University of Cambridge researching the long-term resilience of healthcare buildings. She has a particular interest in circular design solutions and recently completed the selective ‘From Linear to Circular Programme’ for future Circular Economy leaders, run by the Ellen McArthur Foundation. Since joining, she has worked on several mental health and community hubs projects, including an Eating Disorders Unit in Dorset and the NHS Cavell Programme for new community health hubs.

Joanna is a Project Architect and our Sustainability Lead, based in our London Studio. She heads our Sustainability Working Group and manages our sustainability skills training programme, driving our effort to achieve net zero carbon. She is currently leading the design of a pioneering Passivhaus community health and wellbeing hub in Shrewsbury, one of a select group of NHS Cavell Pilot projects.
