Clock View at Walton Hospital Celebrates Ground Breaking Ceremony

Clock-View, Walton Hospital

Medical Architecture joined Beatrice Fraenkel – Chair of MerseyCare NHS trust and local MP Steve Rotheram at the ground-breaking ceremony for the new Clock View 85-bed health facility on the site of the former Walton Hospital on Rice Lane. Commissioned by the Liverpool and Sefton Health Partnership, the facility is the first of five planned TIME projects to start on site and begins the replacement of the ageing stock of mental health buildings, now considered unsustainable and unsuitable for the delivery of modern care. Its sister scheme is a BREEAM 2013 Award winning, and Technology Strategy Board funded case study research project on its programme:  ‘Design for Future Climate – Adapting Buildings’, and many of the valuable lessons learnt have been incorporated into Clock View.
