Blossom Court in the running for four top building awards

Blossom Court in the running for four top building awards.

Completed almost a year ago, Blossom Court is in the running to receive a string of top built environment awards, recognizing its excellence in design and construction, and the positive impact the building is having on patients and staff.

Blossom Court is a new mental health inpatient building for St Ann’s Hospital, designed for Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Mental Health NHS Trust. The two-storey building is arranged around two private courtyards with upper floor terraces, and a central garden, offering private views, abundant daylight and a positive focal point for patients. The arrangement prioritises independent access to outdoor space, promoting mental and physical wellbeing and reducing pressure on staff.

The project has been shortlisted for two prominent healthcare awards, at the European Healthcare Design Awards and the Design in Mental Health Awards, recognizing the team’s approach to patient experience, health and wellbeing, and challenging the stigma around mental health services through design.

The project has also been shortlisted in the Constructing Excellence SECBE Awards, which recognizes the very best of the construction and built environment industry from across London and the South East. Submitted in collaboration with the Trust and building contractor Integrated Health Projects, Blossom Court is a fantastic demonstration of the value that a collaborative approach to design and construction can bring to the overall project outcome.

Finally, Blossom Court is shortlisted for Civic Building of the Year at the SPACES Awards. The Society for Public Architecture, Construction, Engineering and Surveying Awards reward the highest standards in the development, design, construction and management of the public sector estate.
